About Me
My inspiration to paint was rekindled just after my (early) retirement to the Ariège in the French Pyrenees. A present from my daughter of a Winsor & Newton oils box easel set, gave me the start I needed to immerse myself into a passion that I had not had the time to follow during my working life.....and here I am now, enjoying the freedom and time to paint whatever I like, whenever I like.
As a keen amateur photographer, I always have a camera with me and use my photographs to transform into paintings and greeting cards.
Subjects vary, from modern jazz/café scenes, to depicting the traditional French country life, 'Polo', my lovely border collie, friends' pets and interesting characters of the Ariège. Mostly, I paint in acrylics or oils, as I love the rich, vibrant colours.
My work is soon to be exhibited in our local 'épicerie'..............and who knows where next!
